Cranes
MovieTech Kirin crane (up to 12 m)
A modular MovieTech Kirin crane system, configurable up to 12 metres of reach.
The Kirin is a modular system: you build it with the sections the shot needs and no more, which cuts rigging time and counterweight. It covers the long range when production needs height but does not want to move a full telescopic crane.

Full details
Everything you need to know before you get to the location
Open only what you need: rigging, site requirements, what the service includes, and manufacturer specifications with their source.
Rigging and timingsoperations
It varies by configuration, because this is a modular system: you build it with the sections the shot needs and no more. The R12 takes 60 to 90 minutes with three crew. Being modular, it can be cut down on location if access turns out worse than expected.
Site requirementsbefore confirming
The two figures that decide whether it goes in at all: the ground has to carry 1,200 kg/m² and operating wind must stay below 25 km/h. The first rules out many older floors and rooftops; the second rules out a fair number of winter coastal exteriors. Better known at quoting stage than at six in the morning.
What the service includes
Crane with the agreed sections, head, counterweights and a crane grip.
When to choose this kit
When you need long reach but moving a full telescopic is not worth it, or when the location means you have to be able to resize the crane on the day.

Worth knowing. These last two figures almost never appear on a rental website, and they are the ones that decide whether the crane can go in at all: 1,200 kg/m² of ground bearing rules out many older floors and rooftops, and a 25 km/h wind limit rules out a good number of coastal exteriors. Better known at quoting stage than at six in the morning on set.
To be confirmed. We list the Kirin as “up to 12 metres”, which is the R12 version. The exact sections and versions held in the warehouse are to be confirmed.
